Roar

I was intrigue by a good friend of mine, who was very talented when he posted an instagram video of a Tiger Roaring animation. Having my interest firing up with anything to do with Tiger, I made myself my own version and here's how it started:

I was focusing on getting the arc and squash and stretch correctly:

And I started adding more breakdown and some details, concrete the Tiger design

and finally, the result of cleanup:

AFA 2015 - Color Scripts

Here's the Color Scripts I did for AFA2015 Promotional Video:

The design of Seika, the main character, is very pinkish, I'm trying to use blue and green to bring out her contrast. I played with more daring color from the opening scene of backstage, giving a sense of mystery. Glad that the director approve of it, wise choice!

New Year, new animation!

WeGoQuack, practically Mark, WeiChoon, and me get together again to churn ideas for short animation.

So, I get involved in the Backgrounds:

First Draft, This short is suppose to be a long pan, that involve very slow camera movement
So, I played with textures and hues to make it more rich and interesting since its gonna be shown for long. :)

Final Version that ends with a cross section of the toilet bowl.
The hue was changed to suit the first background that I did later.

So, this is the first shot. Added my version of the old metal door. ^^

So now, Await for the animation!

It was an intensive weekends and it still stays in my mind, so before it got fake away, I've decided to pen it down, and after that finishing it digitally:

Zines

Then I came across a post by my friends mentioning about a art book fair involving zines. And hence  my research into the topic. You can find it here: Wiki

Wow, I was excited by the mention of self publishing and about anything and any medium. ZhaZiDian

So I totally took off my drawings of the Tiger and turn them into pages like a book:

It was really fun, And my friend, Prakash said why not turn it into colours, and I just go totally crazy with it and so the result:

This is in a format that is ready for printing and used in the cheapest folding method to make a simple zine. I would probably stick with the black and white version for it is my first try as a self publisher.. so cool!

Life Drawing updated!

Finallly I have catch up with time. This time its back to Hans Bacher bi-weekly open sketch class. And, I'm glad to be back in familiar ground.

And more than just sketching on-spot, I took them off the class and composite with design and colors! It was fun!

This is how it looks like, before I composite them. and just to mentioned, Hans Bacher totally approve these, especially the face! When I'm drawing the 1st one (Left-Upper), He said, stop, move on to another drawing. That's how I always drew many drawings of the same poses. I'm glad!
