Zines

Then I came across a post by my friends mentioning about a art book fair involving zines. And hence  my research into the topic. You can find it here: Wiki

Wow, I was excited by the mention of self publishing and about anything and any medium. ZhaZiDian

So I totally took off my drawings of the Tiger and turn them into pages like a book:

It was really fun, And my friend, Prakash said why not turn it into colours, and I just go totally crazy with it and so the result:

This is in a format that is ready for printing and used in the cheapest folding method to make a simple zine. I would probably stick with the black and white version for it is my first try as a self publisher.. so cool!

Tiger

And so, I was always a BIG big fan of Tiger, I came across this news mentioning about a parade in India involving dressing up as Tigers, And hence off I though why not me? Of course, not the real me, but representation of me:

I wanted so much to me a Tiger, ROAR!!!

Life Drawing updated!

Finallly I have catch up with time. This time its back to Hans Bacher bi-weekly open sketch class. And, I'm glad to be back in familiar ground.

And more than just sketching on-spot, I took them off the class and composite with design and colors! It was fun!

This is how it looks like, before I composite them. and just to mentioned, Hans Bacher totally approve these, especially the face! When I'm drawing the 1st one (Left-Upper), He said, stop, move on to another drawing. That's how I always drew many drawings of the same poses. I'm glad!

Life Drawing Back Date #5

And then finally back in ADM open sketch. Done on my birthday!! Not today of course, its an update of old posts:

Got an interesting comments from Davis mentioning that my drawings have change from many triangles to more curve now. Ever since I took Davis's advance drawing class, he had already remembered my drawing habit or "style" to be. And he is probably the best person to tell me how have I changed.

To me, while I'm still learning, I want to continue changing medium, equipment, method to really understand and analysis drawing in accordance to reality. I do not want to stick to one style. yet.

Life Drawing Back Date #4

Digipen Session, September.

I started to employ this format so that I save internet space and a great chance to compose my drawings instead of laying them there in my sketchbooks

I start to get a hang of shading and form. practice makes perfect. Still a long way to learn. But I like the simplicity of it

Life Drawing Back Date # 3

Thank you Chips and Toon, my former intern place for organizing this life drawing session and manage to meet DanLin the amazing model, who I haven't been seeing in a while.

I realise I'm always so obsessed with shape. I believe I was influence much by Hans Bacher who was always emphasizing on design element.

Thanks to the tight space in Chips and Toon, I get a chance to sit upclose the model, and hence these interesting distortion shape!

Life Drawing Back Date #2

Its DigiPen! Thank you for the life drawing session.

I started to add shading to creates form for my drawings, Not very successful, but have interesting result. I especially like the natural feel of using watercolour to suggest shade, because it is fast!

Life Drawing 12th Mar

I usually seldom post on life drawing. But i'm posting this because it has been long since I last used charcoal to express. And I realize now that I used charcoal in a different, probably more controlled manner:

It is really an interesting and exciting way of getting big and small, changing medium regularly. Maybe I've been sticking with one medium for too long. This is really fun! Not the best, but Fun!
